My work examines my perfectionist tendencies and standards imposed upon me, by both myself and by others, through the lens of being treated like a doll. Growing up the only girl in my family, doing ballet, wearing bows and tutus my whole life, I have always been held to a standard of perfection, largely by myself. Always be put together. Always look your best. Always say the right thing. Be a doll.
